Tarkovsky had a way of expressing something without any spoken language like this shot of the doppelganger wife. As the camera moves up we see her eyes open in the reflection, and she is after all just a memory reflection of the real wife. And as the open eyes indicate she will soon sputter back to life. A brilliant set of shots.

Correction: One unbroken shot. Here it is separate frames but in the film itself it's one fluid motion.
